The Hårby Valkyrie is unique in its kind as it is the first three-dimensional Valkyrie ever found. An armed Valkyrie believed to be from the 9th century. The original was made of gilded silver and was discovered at the end of 2012 in a field in Hårby on the island of Funen in Denmark. The Valkyrie is depicted wearing a long dress and holding a double-edged sword in her right hand, while holding a protective shield in her left hand. Her hair forms a loop for suspension, suggesting that it wore an amulet chain around her neck. Read more and see the original here: link
