This penannular brooch is based on a find from Fide on Gotland from the 10th century. It’s a relatively common model that has been found in several other locations, although the twisted pattern is quite unusual.
Its delicate design makes it ideal for linen garments. The original was also made of bronze, but slightly thicker, and can be seen here: here.
