The winged man Brooch Br-85

kr395.00

This Viking Age brooch originates from a discovery in Uppåkra, southern Sweden. The original was made of gilded bronze and served as a fitting, possibly for a chest.

There are two different interpretations within Norse mythology for this brooch. It can either depict a god wearing Freya’s falcon cloak or the master smith Völund crafting his own wings.
