This model is based on a buckle that was attached to a kidney-shaped purse from the 15th century. This buckle was depicted on the cover of “Purses in Pieces: Archaeological Finds of Late Medieval and 16th-century Leather Purses, Pouches, Bags and Cases in the Netherlands” by Olaf Goubitz.
It fits a belt that is approximately 14-15 mm wide.
