A ring from the 14th century. The original was made of gold with a mounted wolf tooth. Inside the ring, there were two inscriptions. One was a magical formula, and the other was a biblical phrase.
The magical formula was: ‘BURO + BERTO + BERNETO’ and was supposed to protect against toothaches. The inset tooth was likely intended to reinforce the significance of these words.
The biblical phrase was: ‘CONSUMMATUM + EST,’ which were the last words Christ said on the cross and were used to calm storms.
Our ring, however, features a carnelian and lacks the inscriptions.
Made of sterling silver 925.
Available in sizes: Inner measurement circumference: approximately 52-60 mm.
