Nerthus Pe-10 bronze

This pendant is a replica of a find from the Iron Age, discovered at Kymbo Storgård in Västergötland. The figure depicts a Germanic fertility goddess known as Nerthus, Njärd, or När.

It is interesting to note the necklace around the goddess’s neck, which strongly resembles the gold neck rings found from the same period. It can be assumed that these were seen as offerings to her. This may also be related to the Viking Age myth of Freyja and her necklace Brísingamen.

Over the centuries, the worship of Nerthus declined in favor of other gods. Freyja may have taken over some of her roles.

Made of bronze.

All pendants come with a black cord that can be adjusted to the desired length.
