This pendant is from a discovery in Tissö, Denmark. See the original here: link
It likely depicts a Valkyrie, and there have been several similar findings in Scandinavia. The lines on the face are a recurring theme and may possibly represent scars. See also: link
Valkyries are common in the sagas, and their name means “those who choose the spirits of the fallen.” They are not only associated with death and war but also with escorting the chosen warriors to Odin’s hall, Valhalla, where they are greeted with feasts and honor. In some versions, they are described as divine, warrior-like female beings, but at other times they are more akin to shieldmaidens.
Made of sterling silver 925.
A black cord is included with all pendants, which one can adjust the length of themselves.
