This Viking Age strap divider is based on a find from Gotland, made of bronze. The original also had plates at each of the three attachment points, so that it could be riveted to the leather. See: Link to the original.
The purpose of a strap divider was likely to properly suspend a sword. Similar finds from Gotland are at the Historical Museum in Stockholm.
